SpiceJet has announced that its Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the fiscal year 2023-24 will be held by December 31, 2024. The airline received a three-month extension to conduct the meeting, as permitted under Section 96 of the Companies Act, 2013, to give the financially struggling airline more time to organize the event.
The airline also confirmed that it had been in communication with the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) regarding its annual report. SpiceJet had received reminders for not submitting the report for the financial year ending March 31, 2024, but reassured stakeholders that it would distribute the report by the Companies Act and SEBI regulations.
In a separate development, SpiceJet announced the launch of eight new domestic flights starting November 15. These routes will connect Jaipur with Varanasi, Amritsar, and Ahmedabad. This move follows the airline’s recent addition of 32 new flights, including two international routes between Delhi and Phuket. The new flights will be operated using Q400 aircraft, each with a seating capacity of 78 passengers.
These actions, including the AGM extension and new flight routes, demonstrate SpiceJet’s commitment to stabilizing its operations and expanding its network, despite ongoing financial challenges. The airline aims to reassure stakeholders of its efforts to improve its market position while complying with regulatory requirements.
