Qatar Kite Festival 2025 Soars at Old Doha Port with Vibrant Displays and Exciting Activities

The third phase of the Qatar Kite Festival 2025, taking place at Old Doha Port, has brought vibrant kites and engaging activities to the skies and visitors. Running until January 25, the festival, organized by Visit Qatar, began on January 16 at Sealine, moved to Sheraton Park, and now concludes at its largest venue, Old Doha Port.

Over 60 international kite flyers are participating, showcasing awe-inspiring aerial performances. In addition to the kite displays, attendees can enjoy cultural performances, carnival parades, stage acts, kite-making workshops, a kids’ fun zone, and diverse food and beverage options.

The festival has grown in popularity since its inception, with past editions drawing large crowds at venues like the Museum of Islamic Art and Old Doha Port. This year’s event features participants from countries such as Germany, Thailand, Malaysia, the US, Bahrain, Kuwait, Tunisia, and China.

Old Doha Port, a recently renovated location, adds a unique charm to the festival. It now includes the Grand Terminal, which hosts cruise ships during the winter season.

The Qatar Kite Festival is part of the country’s broader efforts to host international events, alongside recent ventures like Sealine Season, Ras Abrouq Desert Adventure, and the International Amber Exhibition. Upcoming events include the Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition, Web Summit Qatar 2025, the Qatar International Food Festival, and the ATP Qatar Open for Tennis.
