Ahead of the Air India-Vistara merger, which will take effect on November 12, 2024, several key management changes have been announced to facilitate the integration process.
- Vinod Kannan, the Chief Executive Officer of Vistara and Chief Integration Officer for the merger, will continue in his role overseeing the integration after the merger.
- Deepak Rajawat, currently the Chief Commercial Officer at Vistara, will transition to the role of Chief Financial Officer at the newly merged Air India Express, reporting to CEO Aloke Singh. In addition, he will assist Sanjay Sharma, Group CFO, in various strategic initiatives and projects.
- Vikas Agarwal, the current CFO of Air India Express, will be moving to a new role within Air India.
- Hamish Maxwell, Senior Vice President of Flight Operations at Vistara, will take on an advisory role to Air India Express CEO Aloke Singh.
- Pushpinder Singh, Chief Operations Officer at Air India Express, will return to active flying duties. His successor will be announced shortly.
- Deepa Chadha, Senior Vice President of Human Resources & Corporate Affairs at Vistara, and Vinod Bhatt, Chief Information Officer at Vistara, will take on senior roles in other Tata group companies.
- Niyant Maru, the CFO of Vistara, who had extended his tenure beyond his retirement date to help with the merger, will retire at the end of his term.
This restructuring marks the final phase in the consolidation of Tata’s four airlines into two, a major step in preparing for the next phase of growth and transformation for Air India and its subsidiary, Air India Express. Campbell Wilson, CEO & MD of Air India, highlighted the successful collaboration of the four Tata airlines over the past two years to navigate this complex merger process.
